1. Lagaan (Gowariker, 2001). Cliche upon cliche, but I didn't hate it, strangely. I usually hate Bollywood movies, and I certainly don't like this one, but I didn't hate it. On TSP 21st Century.

2. La La Land (Chazelle, 2016). More cliches! This time of the nostalgic sort. Not bad, but I don't see why everyone went gaga over La La Land. Same thing goes for Chazelle's previous effort, Whiplash. On TSP 21st Century.

02. El Topo, by Alejandro Jodorowski (1970) 6/10

A strange and surreal western... Strong and inventive visual fail to compensate an extremely weak story...

03. Tini zabutykh predkiv, by Sergei Parajanov (1965) 7,5/10

Also a very beautiful, deeply spiritual imagery, but for a very classic tale. Still a very interesting picture.

6. Le sang d'un počte [The Blood of a Poet] (Jean Cocteau, 1932) 5/10 TSPDT 1000

Important film and you can see how countless films have taken inspiration from this one (Under the Skin and Get Out as recent examples with that door sequence for example) but this has aged very poorly. Perhaps not a place to start with Cocteau, I don't know.

25. #130 Partie de campagne (1936)
26. #310 Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot (1953) - There is a nor/swe film series called Sällskapsresan (directly translated: Chartertrip) and it's easy to see in this where they have gotten inspiration to characters and situations. (Even if it from 1980 and onwards)
27. Foxcatcher (2014) 21st 662

With the goal in the Western challenge completed, I'll probably need one here (and work on the clean-up challenge):
TSPDT: 205: Salň o le 120 giornate di Sodoma (1975), 356: Dont Look Back (1967), 474: Punch-Drunk Love (2002), 493: Melancholia (2011), 561: Walkabout (1971), 654: Zodiac (2007), 21st: 88: Under the Skin (2013), 142: I'm Not There. (2007), 243: Match Point (2005), 358: Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011), 447: Birth (2004), 510: Pina (2011), 686: The Magdalene Sisters (2002), 847: 4 (2004), 872: The Last King of Scotland (2006), 920: Closer (2004), 932: The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
