- A total of 90 minutes of short films count as one entry

Count me in please. Will try to combine this with Have You Seen. Need 8 for Bronze on 100 Best British Films and 25 for Silver on BFI 100, and I have a bunch in my Netflix queue from the Awards Challenge, so maybe I can do 15.

There's a ton of British films on Thomson's list, as he is an English film critic.

Perhaps that is why I had never heard of him before. As I was going down the list, I kept asking myself, who does he think he is!?

Of course, that explains the number of British films, not always good ones. I stopped watching Carrington a number of years ago. Now that I am interested in finishing it, they don't have it anymore. It's okay. The thought of finishing it makes me want to

"Unlike most other critics he realises that a diet of Fellini, Bergman, Antonioni etc. is not enough. We also need the roughage; Abbott and Costello, B noir movies, Tyrone Power swashbucklers et al."

Yeah I should have spoilered it, although he could have done anything. Sorry.

Yeah, the thing that gets me is that there are films on the list he doesn't like, as if he's doing his duty or something. And since some of the titles are cringe-worthy (Out of Africa, Bull Durham), if he doesn't like them, why are they on the list?!?!?!

Thanks - I cross referenced my Have You Seen unwatched list with my watch list for BFI 100 and British Top 100, and came up with 20, of which I have access (Own, Library, Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime) to 16.

Then I can focus on the British films not on those two lists as well.

P.S. to allison - sorry, I totally bagged the JR challenge, so might as well remove me.

2. In This World 2002

This film is remarkable in that it portrays Afghan refugees travelling across Europe in an attempt to get to London, and the deals they do and the dangers they face on the way. Also its the 4th film I have seen directed by Michael Winterbottom, very good, Wonderland, 24 Hour Party People and this. Also A Cock and Bull Story based on Tristram Shandy the 18th century classic book, which I did not really like.

I just need one for Platinum for 100 Best British Films, Land and Freedom directed by Ken Loach and set in the Spanish Civil War
