I AM IN , may watch a couple ...

But Would be observing this thread keenly for good recommendations specially for samurai movies, which i love. Have covered a decent number of official checks for both samurai/martial art movies but if i can find more , that would be great.

Had trouble tracking down some good movies of the genre on free torrent sites earlier.

Here are two of my short lists on imdb:
Greatest Samurai Movies

Kung Fu Special

Isn't it a bit of a stretch calling Ghost Dog a samurai movie?

Yes but we can allow a stretch, he is sort of influenced by a samurai, great film btw.

Cool. I wasn't exactly planning on getting around to more samurai/martial arts films soon, but this might be a good opportunity to get rid of some more backlog and start reading in the Warring Clans, Flashing Blades book.

Is that list up on iCM? If not, would you mind adding it, insomnia?

Not that I can see. Unfortunately I already used up my 1 list, I can give you the titles discussed at some length in the book though, if anyone else wants to add it. I'm not sure if he recommends all of them though, the 1944 Musashi movie he says is terrible for example, but like I said I haven't read the book yet.

Cheers. A lot of nice inclusions on that list. I guess I'll have to check out Daininjutsu eiga Watari - however, I don't expect to add it to my own list as it seems rather bizarre and OT: Watari is about 9 or 10 I reckon, and heĺs absolutely hard as nails! He fights for good with an axe on a rope and has a flute which he seems to play knowingly quite a bitů he can teleport, he can run really quickly, he can run up wallsů man there is probably nothing this kid canĺt do!.

Edit: :D tehe :D  :P
