- A total of 40 minutes of short films count as one entry.
- For TV series (40 minute episodes or longer) each episode counts as an entry.
- For TV series with shorter episodes (25 minutes or so), the 60 minute rule applies.
- Rewatches allowed.
Challenge runs from 1st to 31st of March 2014.

Official lists:

I'm in. I'm gonna set a personal goal of a Silver on the BFI list - which should be easy, since I only need to watch ten and a lot of the remaining ones are quite short.

I'm in! It's gonna be a great anime month
Today I watched Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. I don't know if I should count it as a movie or as an OVA which means that it's two entries.

1. Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal 1999 8/10

Very good. It was very gory, which is always a good thing in my book, and it had a great story. Now I want to watch the series even more.

2. Apocalypse Zero 1994 7/10

I read some bad hings about it but I liked it. Only two episodes, but it managed to tell it's story and develop the characters. It was funny, with good animation, gory... what's more to ask. I don't get why all the hate.

3. Free! Iwatobi Swim Club ep. 1-3

I decided to watch this because I read some good things about. I'm not disappointed so far. An engaging story and a nice way of presenting the story with all the flashbacks.

Count it as an OVA. I don't remember the exact episode length so you'll have to check to make sure that 1-2 and 3-4 add up to 60 minutes each. If it's slightly less then you can watch a short to make it reach 60.

Go ahead and count it as 2 entries. and note the series is quite different in both narrative and style.

It was good, but if I had to rank them I think I'd put it somewhere in the bottom half.

Interesting. I plan on watching Princess Mononoke sometime this month so I'll have seen all his films (except The Wind Rises) within the last 2-3 years. It's been quite awhile since I've seen Princess Mononoke last...

Then I'm posting a ranked order!

I saw that one during the last Animation Challenge. It was also good.

Between the Unico films and Chirin no Suzu, it's a shame that Sanrio didn't produce more animation. Their sad children's movies look like they had pretty high budgets.

Dubbed? NOOooooo!!!!!
You are ruining a great experience...
But I hate dubbing and never really got used to it even though I've seen several anime dubbed (especially Dragonball). If you like it OK but usually I don't like the anime when dubbed and quickly I switch to sub. Then I like it more.

I prefer subs as well, but I'm OK with dubs if they're easier to find with Google and don't require downloading. Anyway, dub is not wholly inappropriate for a tale of American gangsters. The latest episode, however, had everyone speaking with an, shall we say, interesting French accent: "Zat eez correct."

Why don't you want to download? The torrent I linked earlier has a lot of seeds so it'll download quickly. If you need a smaller file size you can get the Ayu release (only 4 GB in total, but apparently there's a problem with episode 6 according to the comments).

If you have trouble with playing files then just install CCCP.

Btw the subbed version is available on Youtube on the official Funimation channel: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=ELF0YXlfdQn1E

The most popular ones are MyAnimeList, Anime-Planet, AniDB, and AnimeNewsNetwork.

I use Anime-Planet to keep track of what I watch because I think it's the easiest to use, but I also have accounts on the other 3 sites (I use them for other purposes).

Sirius no Densetsu (same director as Chirin no Suzu) is also very good. Yousei Florence is ok but not good enough to recommend.

1. Shingeki no Kyojin (2013) - Attack on Titan episodes 1-3 (72 minutes)
1a. Attack on Titan episode 1 (24 min) 6/10
1b. Attack on Titan episode 2 (24 min) 6/10
1c. Attack on Titan episode 3 (24 min) 7/10
2. Shingeki no Kyojin (2013) - Attack on Titan episodes 4-6 (72 minutes)
2a. Attack on Titan episode 4 (24 min) 6/10
2b. Attack on Titan episode 5 (24 min) 6/10
2c. Attack on Titan episode 6 (24 min) 6/10

3. Lady and the Tramp (1955) 9/10 - Haven't watched this film in at least ten years previously, but it still holds up at being one of my favorite Disney films.

4. Shingeki no Kyojin (2013) - Attack on Titan episodes 7-9 (72 minutes)
4a. Attack on Titan episode 7 (24 min) 7/10
4b. Attack on Titan episode 8 (24 min) 7/10
4c. Attack on Titan episode 9 (24 min) 6/10

Just when I thought I was liking Attack on Titan, it turns predictable and reminds me too much of Bleach.

5. SamÔ u˘zu (2009) 9/10 - Summer Wars. This film is far from having any originality. In fact, it reminds me of an act from the original Digimon movie (just without the digimon). With that said, what this film lacks in creativity, it makes up with by being relatable and having good storytelling involving friendship and family :'(
