Decided to keep the neo noirs on the list. There are about 20 of them. It's a top 150, results coming shortly.

You have Wincherster 73, so no. I did think about including it though.

Wow, I have a better understanding of what loosely counts as Horror than what loosely counts as Noir. I would never have thought of Winchester 73. Did The Tin Star just miss the cut?

I Wake Up Screaming. Just getting started and already hit a title I forgot to include.

Lady in the Lake?!? I will say it's one of the most interesting bad films ever made. From Audrey Totter's opening scene the experiment fails with horrible acting, and I usually like Totter. Only Lloyd Nolan can keep the performance up and modulated during the lengthy takes.

Tin Star didn't get any votes. Winchester 73 is on the more noirs list, which I guess is why it got so many votes. I don't really think of it as noir.

Lady in the Lake surprised me too seeing it there when it seems pretty derided nowadays. Much rather watch The Brasher Doubloon for a third rater Chandler adaptation.

Even though I wouldn't include some of the borderline noirs personally, there's only one film in the top 150 that I truly don't understand being included.

I don't see how it's possible to like Totter, but not like her in this film. It's her most striking performance.

It's Totter's most mannered performance. (Her most striking is Tension.) She's great for going slightly big in Noir but not cartoonish. Holding on her in Lady in the Lake, she oversells many of the lines and goes too big with her expressions, creating a very unnatural performance.

The Brasher Doubloon is a better film, but if you only have time for one in your life I'd have to say go with Lake because it's more interesting for the attempt, really unlike any other Noir.

Looking forward to that big head scratcher. Wonder if it will be easy to spot.

Perhaps The Sound of Music managed to claim a double after topping the horror list?

Very nice. :)

To be honest I expected a top 200 or top250 here, in order to see more neo-noir results too. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter much since some of us can still look at extended result list. In any case this will make most of the results to be more "pure" noir. Which is kinda ok anywayz.

Nice results till now. However I don't get why treasure of sierra madre is Noir enough to make the top150. :P I remember it more as a dark adventure to be honest.
